From at least High Sierra 10.13.6 you can use the system profiler (About This Mac System Report SATA/SATA Express) to give you a list of all mounted SATA devices and get the UUID of each mounted Disk by name. If you have unmounted drives use Disk Utility to mount them.

So I wanted a simple way to just poll my network and see what was out there, which would let me find the camera by process of elimination. Some versions of the ping command support the -b broadcast flag, which will send a ping request to any device capable of receiving such requests on your network, and report back with the addresses of those. The quickest way to find the MAC address is through the command prompt. Open the command prompt. Search 'Command Prompt' in the taskbar, or if you have an older version of Windows, you can. From this location (called 'Arnoud's Macbook Pro' or something), you should see a folder called 'Network.' This will show you a variety of network shares. To see every device advertising itself on the network, check out Bonjour Browser, which will display all registered zeroconf devices. When I check my account and check my devices, displays on top of the page 'We don't see any devices for.' Although when I called support it had the record of my devices iMac and Macbook Pro. When I try to add a device like another Mac it gives me only the option to a Windows device.

In Find My, you can see the location of a missing device, and play a sound on it to help you find it.

Important: To be able to locate a missing device, you must add it in Find My before it's lost.

See the location of a device

  1. In the Find My app on your Mac, click Devices.

  2. In the Devices list, select the device you want to locate.

    • If the device can be located: It appears on the map so you can see where it is.

    • If the device can't be located: Below the device's name, 'No location found' appears. If you want to be notified when the location is available, click the Info button on the map, then select Notify When Found. You receive a notification once it's located.

Play a sound on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or Apple Watch

  1. In the Find My app on your Mac, click Devices.

  2. In the Devices list, select the device you want to play a sound on, then click the Info button on the map.

  3. Click Play Sound.

    Note: You can also Control-click the device in the Devices list, then choose Play Sound.

    • If the device is online: A sound starts after a short delay and gradually increases in volume, then plays for about two minutes. The device may vibrate. A Find My [device] alert also appears on the device's screen.

      A confirmation email is also sent to your Apple ID email address.

    • If the device is offline: The sound plays the next time the device connects to a Wi-Fi or cellular network.

Play a sound on your AirPods

  1. In the Find My app on your Mac, click Devices.

  2. In the Devices list, select your AirPods, then click the Info button on the map.

  3. Click Play Sound. If your AirPods are separated, you can click Left or Right to find them one at a time.

    • If your AirPods are online: They play a sound immediately (for two minutes).

      A confirmation email is also sent to your Apple ID email address.

    • If your AirPods are offline: Mac os snow leopard. You receive a notification on your devices the next time your AirPods are in range of one of your devices and the Find My app is open.

Stop playing a sound on a device

If you find your device and want to turn off the sound before it stops automatically, do one of the following:

  • Mac: Click OK in the Find My Mac alert.

  • iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Press the power button or a volume button, or flip the Ring/Silent switch. If the device is locked, you can also unlock it, or swipe to dismiss the Find My [device] alert. If the device is unlocked, you can also tap OK in the Find My [device] alert.

  • Apple Watch: Tap Dismiss in the Find My Watch alert, or press the Digital Crown or side button.

  • AirPods: Put your AirPods in their case and close the lid, or tap Stop in Find My.

    Note: You can also Control-click the device in the Devices list, then choose Directions.

Tip: You can help a friend find their devices by opening iCloud.com so they can sign in to their iCloud account on your Mac. In the People list, select yourself, then click the Info button on the map. At the bottom, click 'Help a friend,' click 'Use a different Apple ID,' then let your friend sign in.
